Buenos Aires Small-Group Tour for Cruise Passengers

For cruise passengers · Shared walking tour · Dates being assessed

Explore Buenos Aires on a planned seven-hour small-group walk for selected cruise calls. The proposed route would begin at a confirmed landside point outside the terminal, then visit Retiro, Recoleta, the city center and San Telmo, with coffee and lunch breaks. Dates and prices are being assessed. Tell us your ship and port date so we can check what works.

The exact landside meeting point and return arrangement depend on the sailing. This is an enquiry, with no payment or date reservation.

At a glance: Planned seven-hour guided walk · Shared small group, with capacity to be confirmed · Planned landside terminal meeting, subject to an access check · Ship-specific dates and price to be confirmed. Return transport is date-dependent and will be stated with each confirmed offer; any return journey adds time beyond the seven guided hours.

A Buenos Aires day built for people arriving by ship

Our regular Full Day Essentials Tour starts in Recoleta. This proposed cruise-day version starts closer to the port and follows a different opening route, so guests can begin exploring after they have cleared the terminal. It remains a walking experience, not a private vehicle tour or a succession of photo stops.

The planned route brings together the city’s elegant avenues, its civic center and older southern streets. Your guide can connect what you see with the history and everyday life behind it, while a small group leaves room to ask about the places that interest you.

The planned seven-hour route

01 · RETIRO

Retiro and Plaza San Martín

Meet at the confirmed landside point and set out through the Retiro area toward one of the city’s great public squares.

02 · RECOLETA

Recoleta

Continue to Recoleta, aiming for a café pause at La Biela and a visit to Recoleta Cemetery. Cemetery access and the exact sequence will be checked for each departure.

03 · CENTER

Microcentro and the historic center

Cross the central city with a lunch break, then explore the area around Plaza de Mayo and the historic center.

04 · SAN TELMO

San Telmo

Finish the guided walking route among the older streets and market area of San Telmo, subject to the confirmed route and ship timetable.

Seven hours describes the guided tour, not the entire time between leaving and reboarding your ship. Terminal clearance, any time before the agreed meeting, and the return journey require additional allowance. We will not offer a ship-date departure until its meeting, route and return plan have been checked against that sailing’s instructions.

Return plans and the possible La Boca option

How the return works

The return arrangement will be stated clearly for each confirmed departure. When the sailing leaves enough time, you may prefer to explore independently after the tour and make your own way back, or request a separately quoted vehicle return. On timing-critical dates that are approved for this walk, an accompanied vehicle return will be included in the date-specific price. We will state the full meeting-to-terminal time before booking.

Can the route include La Boca?

La Boca is not part of the standard seven-hour route. A further hour there may be possible on selected sailings only after ship timing, the afternoon route and transport have been checked. It is not a general seasonal promise.

Is this the right shore experience for you?

Choose this format if you enjoy exploring on foot, want more conversation than a large coach group allows, and are comfortable with a substantial city walk broken up by stops. The exact walking distance, pace and any in-tour transport will be confirmed after the route has been tested. Tell us about mobility needs when you enquire so we can advise honestly.

If you want the day reserved for your own party, a different pace or a route built around your interests, see our private Buenos Aires shore excursion. If you are staying in the city rather than visiting by ship, compare our regular Buenos Aires Essentials tours.

Ask about your ship date

Tell us your ship, port date, party size and all-aboard time if known. We’ll check the route, return time and price and reply. This enquiry does not reserve a place or take payment.

Questions about the planned tour

Is this the private shore excursion?

No. You share a planned walking route with other guests and meet at an agreed landside point outside the cruise terminal. If you want a route tailored to your party or a private vehicle during sightseeing, see our private Buenos Aires shore excursion.

Where will we meet?

The plan is to meet on the city side of the cruise terminal after passengers have cleared it, not at the ship or pier. The precise exit and meeting instructions must be confirmed for each departure; we will not ask you to guess a terminal gate.

Are seven hours the full time away from the ship?

No. Seven hours describes the guided walk. A vehicle return, where offered, adds travel time afterwards, and terminal clearance comes before the meeting. We will state the full meeting-to-terminal time for each confirmed departure. A date-specific La Boca option adds an hour of guided touring.

Can you guarantee that I will be back before all-aboard?

No tour should claim a guaranteed return without your ship’s actual instructions. We need its real all-aboard time, not just the published sailing time, and must check terminal exit, the route and the return journey before offering a departure. Please share the all-aboard time if your cruise line has given it to you.

Is transport back to the ship included?

That depends on the confirmed departure. Its offer will state whether a return vehicle is included, available as a separately priced option, or whether you will return independently. The guided seven hours do not include an assumed port-to-port journey.

Are lunch, coffee and Recoleta Cemetery admission included?

The planned day includes breaks for coffee and lunch and a cemetery visit. What you pay for those items, and whether admission and any transport are included in the tour price, will be listed before you are asked to book. The regular Essentials inclusions should not be assumed for this different product.

Can we add La Boca?

Only if a specific sailing has enough verified time and a workable route and return plan. It is a separate one-hour option, not part of the standard walk.

What if my ship changes its schedule?

Tell us as soon as you know. The cancellation and schedule-change terms for this cruise-specific offer will be shown with any confirmed departure; we will not apply a generic policy to an unconfirmed date.
