What the full day adds

Compared with the Half Day, you’ll also visit Plaza de Mayo and San Telmo and sit down for a local lunch. Allow for about five miles of walking across seven hours, broken up by stops and some public transport.

The route, in four stages

From Monday to Saturday, the tour begins in Recoleta near Avenida Santa Fe and Avenida Callao at 10am and finishes in San Telmo at about 5pm. The exact meeting point depends on your date and is sent before the tour.

Start with coffee and get to know your group. Walk through Recoleta and its cemetery, including Evita’s story and the people whose names still turn up in the city’s history.

See the Teatro Colón exterior, then stop at Avenida 9 de Julio, the Obelisk and Florida Street.

03 · HISTORIC CENTER

At Plaza de Mayo, see the Casa Rosada, Cabildo and Metropolitan Cathedral from outside. A local lunch is included during the day.

04 · SAN TELMO

Defensa Street and San Telmo

Follow Defensa Street toward Plaza Dorrego and the indoor market. End around 5pm with ideas for the rest of your trip.

Sunday route: This 7 hour tour runs in reverse, starting in San Telmo at 10am and finishing in Recoleta at about 5pm. Stops can vary with opening hours, weather, demonstrations and the group’s pace.

Good to know before booking

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Solo travelers can book any available date at the advertised direct price.

How much walking is involved?

Usually around 8 km, or 5 miles, across seven hours. The pace is easy to moderate, with stops, lunch and public transport during the day. Hot summer days can feel more demanding.

What happens on Sundays?

Full Day Essentials starts in San Telmo at 10am and finishes in Recoleta at about 5pm. The route runs in reverse.

What if I cancel or it rains?

Cancel more than 24 hours before the tour starts for a full refund. Later cancellations and no-shows are normally charged in full; the terms explain the exceptions. Tours usually run rain or shine. If BuenosTours cancels before the tour because severe weather or flooding makes it unsafe, you may rebook at no extra cost or receive a full refund.

Would another length suit you? Try the Half Day Essentials tour for a lighter morning or the 8 hour Full Day tour with La Boca if Caminito is on your list.
