Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.buenostours.com. We are a tourism company called BuenosTours, selling walking tours and other tourism-related services principally in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. BuenosTours is a fully-owned web property of the US-based business TourBright LLC, based in South Portland, Maine.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

WordPress and some WordPress plugins will use cookies to aid with the functionality of this website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We also share relevant information with assigned guides and service providers as explained under tour arrangements and where your data is sent below.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (called Akismet).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you contact BuenosTours or request a quote, we use the name, email address, message and trip details you provide to respond and help plan your visit.

When you book, we use contact and participant details, your chosen date and tour, group size, payment status, and the meeting arrangements and preferences you provide to organize and deliver your tour. Our private-tour forms also let you provide information to help us tailor your experience. We share relevant contact and tour details with the guide assigned to your booking and service providers involved in arrangements you request.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand website use, measure enquiries and bookings, and assess our advertising. Depending on the privacy preferences applied by our cookie controls, measurement can include pages visited, browser and device information, referral or advertising identifiers, and booking-event information such as transaction references, value and currency. Eligible advertising data may also be used to show BuenosTours ads to previous website visitors.

Our Bókun booking flow also uses the Meta Pixel to measure interactions such as viewing the booking flow, adding a tour to the cart and beginning checkout. It is configured to report completed purchases. This integration requires the Statistics and Marketing permissions applied by our cookie controls.

You can review or change your preferences through Cookie Settings in the website footer. Declining optional storage does not stop every Google request: Google Consent Mode can send consent signals and limited measurement without analytics or advertising cookies. Cookie preferences are separate from email-unsubscribe choices.

Where your data is sent

We use Bókun for our small-group online booking flow. Our private-tour booking forms and scheduling run through our WordPress website using Fluent Forms and FluentBooking. Stripe processes card payments. We receive booking and payment information, including payment status and transaction references, to manage confirmations, balances and refunds.

WP Engine hosts our website. Cloudflare and NitroPack help deliver, protect and improve the performance of the site. We use Google Workspace for business email and operational tools, including calendars and spreadsheets used to organize tours. These services process the information needed for their functions. Google and Meta also receive measurement information as described above.

Our service providers may process information outside your home country. Their privacy information is available from Bókun, Stripe, Google and Meta.

Travel guides and email updates

Our free Three Days in Buenos Aires PDF is available to download without an email address. Downloading the guide does not subscribe you to email updates.

If you request an Essentials tour discount code, we collect your email address and expected arrival date in Buenos Aires. We use the address to send the requested code and store the arrival date with your contact record. As the form explains, we may also send occasional Buenos Aires travel ideas and BuenosTours updates. A previous unsubscribe choice remains in effect; requesting a code does not resubscribe an unsubscribed address. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time, while still receiving the code email you requested.

When you voluntarily give BuenosTours your email address through an enquiry or booking, we may also use it for occasional Buenos Aires travel tips and BuenosTours updates. You can ask us to stop these updates at any time by emailing [email protected]. We retain an unsubscribe record so a later booking, enquiry or list import does not automatically add you back. Unsubscribing from updates does not stop messages needed to handle an enquiry or booking you have requested.

We may need to confirm your identity and retain information required for legal, accounting or security purposes. We will explain any relevant limits when responding.
