Buenos Aires Blog Roundup – Week #4

[25th - 31st December 2006 - New Year’s edition!]

Once again I’m afraid that, due to the family Christmas, transatlantic travelling and moving to a new apartment, this blog roundup will be the only post of the past week.

Very soon, normal service will be resumed, with at least one other Buenos Aires related blog post a week…I promise! Although that said, I’m back to work at the day job this week, and have lots of moving in to a new apartment type things to do…so you never know. Anyway, on with the show…this is what Buenos Aires blogs have been posting about over the last week…

Buenos Aires Sightseeing

  • Eagle-eyed Robert captures the brand new lick of pink paint on the back of the Casa Rosada (Pink House) – the famous headquarters of the Argentine government in Plaza de Mayo, which are currently being renovated
  • Robert has also been up the tower of the lovely art nouveau Galeria Guemes, on Florida street, Buenos Aires…and I´m jealous! You have to check out the amazing photos he took on the way up and from the 16th floor
  • Diva awards herself a tongue-in-cheek tour guide of the year award, so if you are coming to BA and enjoy her particular brand of humor, drop her a line for an informal tour of the city
  • Karine posts up a nice photo and a little bit about Avenida Corrientes, the “street that never sleeps” of Buenos Aires
  • For some wonderful alternative sightseeing ideas, check out Jeff´s post Walking along Brasil, his account of a wander down this interesting avenue in the southern area of Buenos Aires city

Buenos Aires “Meme” Update

  • Robert of Line of Sight valiantly took on my suggestion for him to do a “perfect day of architecture in Buenos Aires”, and his resulting post more than comes up with the goods…looks pretty perfect to me (although as he says, it would certainly be difficult to see it all in just 24 hours), and anyone interested in architecture that is coming to BA should certainly take note…make sure you follow his hyperlinks for full posts about many of these wonderful structures. Thanks Robert!
  • Dan of Saltshaker posts up a fantastic appetizer crawl for Buenos Aires as his contribution to the perfect day meme, from a foodie slant. And it looks delicious…I would love to try it myself some time…although I would probably spread it out over a few days to avoid having to then diet for the rest of 2007 :) Again, check out his links for full reviews of many of the restuarants mentioned, and again, thanks for getting involved in the meme Dan!
  • In her last post of the year, Dalila posts to reminds me that she promised to post her perfect day in Trendy Palermo Viejo soon, probably in January. Looking forward to it!

Once again, thanks to all for reading, and I hope you keep with me through 2007 as I will be posting a lot of informative posts for visitors to Buenos Aires, in addition to trying to raise the profile of the many other great blogs in BA, such as the ones linked above.

Have a wonderful 2007 everyone!

    Saludos!
